The year is 1968 and Dr Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is living a lonely existence, his days are spent trying to exterminate the shuffling vampire like creatures that his fellow humans have become after being infected by a terrible plague. He believes he has immunity to the plague after being bitten by a bat some years earlier but has so far been unable to prove his theory.
