A group of four nuns travel to a remote mountain in India to establish a school and hospital. The agent for the ruler of the state, Mr Dean (David Farrar) is doubtful the nuns will succeed but the nun appointed as the Mother Superior (Deborah Kerr) is determined to achieve their goal.
